Doctoral supervisor The Laboratory of Building Structure performs researches in the fields of structural design and mechanical analysis of high rise and big span buildings. The current focus of researches : 1. New structure systems S-Art 1.5-Layer space frames Frameless Glass Structures, Reciprocal system 2. High-rise Buildings and Big Span Spatial Structures Seismic design for high rise and big span buildings Structural design theories for tension structures, namely, Membrane and Cable Structures New configuration and design methods for Space Frames and Folding Structures, etc. 3. Shape Optimization and Structural Analysis Shape optimization, to find the optimum shape of a structure aided by computer program, is still a citadel in the fields of mechanical analysis and structural engineering. Our laboratory researches shape optimization against buckling, and shape optimization for space frames and tension structures.
